  • Class under which the goods and services fall;
  • Details of the goods and services to be trademarked.

If a priority is to be claimed, then a certified copy of the priority document in Arabic must be submitted.

Search and examination

After the application is filed, the SAIP will search for any identical or similar trademarks. Then, there will be an examination where the application will be checked on absolute and substantive grounds. If the application is not complete or there is any inaccuracy, the application will be rejected, and the applicant will be notified.

Publication and Opposition

After the examination, the application is published in the official gazette of the government. It is published for ninety days for the public, and during this time, anyone can oppose the application. If there is an opposition filed, the applicant has thirty days to respond; otherwise, the application will be considered withdrawn.

Once the applicant pays the registration fee, which has to be paid within thirty days after the publication, the applicant receives the trademark registration certificate.

How long does the trademark last?
